Let’s face it, no matter how we might be decked out with our leather jacket, jeans, riding boots, requisite "brain bucket"( or DOT approved helmet for the more safety conscious among us), and of course your ride of choice, we are not all as badass as we appear.
The image of bikers has changed as we baby-boomers take up that lost love of our youth. We’re older and hopefully wiser with the passage of time and thereby we’ve become a little more mellow. That said, we still want to look cool and we still want to be bad but we still have to go to work. For many of us that means business casual or even suit and tie. Personally, I did not want to forego the pleasure of riding my bike on a perfect summers day just because I have to go to the office. So, I found myself attending business meetings and making sales calls on my 1999 Indian Chief.
Oh, the joy of it!
The problem was that my khakis or dress pants would blow up to my knees and I was constantly adjusting them, which at highway speed is not the safest thing you could be doing. I also found that even while wearing loose fitting blue jeans on the weekend, they too would blow up over my boots. Aggravating to say the least!
As a result, I developed Faärken, Inc. Biker Stirrups. They worked great by securing the bottoms of the pant leg with clips and an elastic strap that fit underneath the boot or shoes. I then added some decorative conchos and lo and behold, I was cool from head to toe!

About our name change
Rather than incur significant legal fees to defend our Hawg Tie Biker Stirrups trade mark. I opted to change the name.
Being of Dutch descent, I remembered that the name for hog or pig is varken. I took some poetic license with the spelling and came up with Faärken, Inc. Biker Stirrups.
